@drewbarrymore : I have been in a makeup chair my entire life and truly love learning and sharing beauty tips, products, ingredients... and stories! BUT This week, I’ll be sharing my beauty stories as well as discoveries with you because I watched this short film and thought it was the perfect start to #BeautyJunkieWeek @hairlovemovie is an Oscar®-winning animated short film from Matthew A. Cherry that tells the heartfelt story of an African American father learning to do his daughter’s hair for the first time. This message was so touching and emotional to me as a mother raising two daughters. I had heard about it on the @dailyshow when the filmmaker was on and then my Olive saw it on YouTube and said she had heard about it at school!!! So, we sat down to watch it as a family. I want them to be constantly reminded that beauty starts from within... confidence, love and how you treat others. I thought this film was truly BEAUTIFUL. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. Spoiler alert... I cried watching it, clutching my girls. As we enter International Women’s Month, I am also reminded of how important it is to try and understand other women while supporting them on their journeys... it is up to all of us to raise each other up! We are already beautiful, NOW LET’S PLAY!
