@jennifer.garner : Did you know that you can help build a child’s brain, starting even before that baby can talk? My friends @developingchildharvard are reminding us of the importance of simple #ServeAndReturn interactions, things you probably do naturally, to help build strong connections in developing brains. 💪 🧠 They are easy to practice at home or on the go, and lay the foundation for lifelong learning, behavior, and health. Harvard says so! Here are the five steps: 1. Notice the serve and share the child’s focus of attention (pointing, making sounds, moving arms & legs) 2. Return the serve by supporting and encouraging (acknowledge, do it back!) 3. Give it a name (“built-in-accessory” 🙋🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️) 4. Take turns…and wait. Keep the interaction going back and forth. 5. Practice endings and beginnings (on to the next!) #RemyandHazel👯‍♀️❤️ #InvestInKids @savethechildren
