@katiecouric : This is such a funny photo. President Bush surprised Mrs. Bush and me when she was giving me a tour of the White House for the @todayshow back in 1992. I started peppering him with questions and my impromptu interview went on for nearly twenty minutes. That’s when Mrs. Bush started checking her watch. By then, Marlin Fitzwater, the WH press secretary had come in and I said “Look, Marlin’s pulling out what’s left of his hair!” Everyone laughed and it cut the tension. President Bush later signed this picture which I have hanging on my wall with a lovely note from him. I will never forget him or this moment. RIP to both of you. ❤️
