@clarencehouse : The #RoyalVisitGermany continued today in the city of Leipzig, where The Prince and The Duchess were welcomed by crowds of local residents and visitors outside the Old City Hall. TRH signed Leipzig’s Golden Book and visited two churches: St Thomas’s Church and St Nicholas Church, which is the oldest and largest church in the city. St Nicholas Church is known as being a key location in the events of the “Peaceful Revolution”, the events which led to the division of Germany in 1989 and German Unification a year later. Tens of thousands of people marched peacefully from the church through the centre of the city. The Prince of Wales laid a white rose at the memorial column commemorating the Peaceful Revolution.
