#tbt Baby V. I was 6 in this photo. Today I got Phoenix (3) & Brooklyn’s (5) school photos. I legit sat in my car and cried. Like snotty blow your nose and make weird noises cry. What is happening? All of the days, months and years are flying by. Even though I try my hardest to be present and do everything, I constantly feel like I’m coming up short. I think we all do, to an extent. Then we remind ourselves that we are amazing and doing the best that we can. I Love being a Mommy more than anything in the world, but I also cherish my marriage, friendships & work. Balance is key. Why can’t we have it all? We can! It’s ok to have ups and downs. It’s ok to feel lost. We will get back on track. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help from others, but also don’t ever be afraid to feel! Just like our kids, we have every right to cry and be sad then laugh and get back up again. Life is hard, and I just wanted to say, we are ALL in it together. Smile to a stranger today. You’ll feel better and maybe even make their day. ❤️

I don’t have any baking recipes passed down from generations and growing up I didn’t have a ton of cooking traditions since my mom left when I was a little girl. Brooklyn is only 4, but she recently reminded me that traditions can start with US. I told her Uncle Drew was coming into town and we can celebrate his birthday. She told me she wanted to bake him a chocolate cake. After her bath, her first thought was to put on her Christmas jammies to bake. So without even knowing it, when she thinks of baking, she thinks of the Holidays. My heart melted watching her watch the cake rise in her Santa footie pajamas. It made me feel so good to start something new with my little girl. #TheTraditionCanStartWithYou ❤️

Today was my due date for this little guy, March 1, 2017. But he decided to show up 10 weeks early, Dec 24, 2016... our little Christmas miracle. Because he was premature, I knew it would be a tough road, but I didn’t know how tough during RSV season! Babies who are premature or who have lung or heart conditions are considered high risk and need to be extra careful during cold/flu/RSV season! People always forget about RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). It’s like the flu’s evil cousin! It’s an extremely contagious virus and almost ALL babies by two-years-old will get it! This photo was taken last year, this time. Phoenix was 1. He got RSV and we were scared for his life. I encourage ALL you Mommies & Daddies to read up on it and ask your doctors if your baby is a high risk baby. I hope you never have to experience what we did. Sending Love & Light and the power of knowledge! I will never give up talking about it, spreading the word and sharing my story. ...and to all a good night!✨ This was the only picture I got of all 5 of us huddled in our bedroom this morning before we ran downstairs. Christmas 2018 was 😍!!! Cam learned how to ride a bike. Brooklyn became a true princess with a tower bigger than her. Phoenix fell in love with cars all over again and made sure to say good-night to all of them before bed. Most importantly, we laughed, snuggled and played ALL day long. Only one melt down with a damn candy claw grabber game that I immediately regretted buying. The cherry on top was Nick doing 3 loads of dishes (in a partially unzipped onoesie 😏 Haha!). Wishing you ALL a Very Merry Christmas filled with Laughter, Love & people you care about.❤️

As the daughter & granddaughter to two military men, I know first hand what it’s like to see their sacrifices. I remember nights not knowing if my dad would come home or weeks hoping he’d find a satellite phone to call for even seconds while we were sleeping. I would hope the doorbell was not uniformed officers every time it rang to tell me bad news. I remember crying every time he was deployed and him reassuring me it was for our Freedom and the life we “get” to live. He dedicated most of his life to his service and so did my grandfather. Thank YOU to all the Veterans out there who do so much for US. And to the families who help keep them going with Love & support, I am sooo grateful for you! WE are so grateful for YOU! 🇺🇸❤️

It’s official, my first born is now off to his first day of Kindergarten. I’ll never forget our first skin to skin, his first hiccup, his first social smile, his first word (Dog), his first joke, his first “I Love You, Mama” and now his first day of school. I still have so much to look forward to, his first serious question, his first girlfriend, his first time driving, his first broken heart (she better watch out!), his first day on his own in the real world and the first time he realized how we did it ALL for him and he says “Thank You”. My #3!!! He’s the loudest, most stubborn, sweetest, most loving, scares me the most, smiles the biggest, laughs the hardest and will get away with everything because of that sweet little look on his face! Sooooo, I LOVE to cook! 👩🏽🍳That’s no secret! But, it had to start somewhere. For me, it was the internet and a boyfriend (Nick) who was willing to try ANYTHING! I guess the old-fashioned saying was “Behind every great man, is a great woman!” I believe it’s also “Behind every great woman, is a great man!” Or we can just say “Behind every great person, is a another great person!” 😘 Yes, we are all capable of being our best selves and conquering our own dreams, visions and goals. BUT... one thing “I” know, is I wouldn’t have been able to follow my dream of being a part of Top Chef JR without my husband. He makes it possible and (somewhat guilt-free) to be away from my three babies for hours, days and weeks on end. We do it for each other and for THAT I am grateful. Our show was nominated for an Emmy after ONE season and a huge part of that success is me being able to give my best because my other best is home with our family! Love you baby! ❤️

I remember the first time I took each of my babies to Disneyland. It’s a magical moment seeing their faces & watching their reactions. Phoenix was an extra special one for me. He’s fought harder everyday to keep up with two older siblings and catch up to life since he’s a premie. But NOTHING will stop him. I see this smile and melt every time! I truly feel lucky to have HIM and yup... I’m a sucker, so whatever he wants... he will get! #ToTheMoonAndBack #AndBackAGAIN ❤️ Thank You Disneyland for giving us sooo many beautiful, magical memories!
