@kristenanniebell : Next up for #10featuredteachers Round 2 is Kelly! This is what she sent me: “My name is Kelly Merritt and I’m an English teacher in a rural school in New Richmond, Ohio. My district is small but it has lots of heart. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and is willing to step in like a family when needed. Our community is very diverse economically and many students can not afford basic life supplies, not to mention school supplies. This opportunity would help take some of the burden off of them! As a village everyone tries to do their part, but sometimes it’s not enough. I’m trying to increase flexible seating in my room to accommodate those with attention or behavioral needs, I just can’t afford new seating for everyone! Our English department is taking great strides to increase our classroom libraries so books are a huge priority, too!
