@aliciakeys : This stopped me in my tracks. As the mommy of boys I’m always confronted with this silly standard we put on boys to be “tough” - to be “hard” - to not cry- to not express their true feelings and emotions. It’s devastating! We encourage girls to be creative - to be colorful - to be expressive. But with boys we give them these rules about how being a man means being emotionless. I teach my boys to honor their feelings - to use their words - to be able to actually express how they feel. It might sound crazy but I believe this is a way to change the world too. I pray we can “Viva La Vida” and stop perpetuating these traps!
